The other day I was asked “So why are you doing this”? I couldn’t give an answer straight away. Since then having time to reflect, I give the following.
Music has the power to move you in more ways than just dancing. It has a way of stirring emotions and heightening the mood. Have you ever been to a funeral and held back the tears only for the song the family had chosen open the floodgates, or watched down the aisle as people tap their feet to the music?
Have you ever had a tune give you goosebumps, or lift you when down as it’s given you reason to remember happier times?
Sometimes it would seem that some tunes can be lost to time. Either falling out of favour, or becoming unfashionable, only to have the hairs on your arms stand on end when heard many years later.
Recognising the power of music and how it can unite, even in times of immense sadness (as witnessed in Italy during their lockdown) is part of the reason for this call out.
So again we are calling all DJ’s, Music Producers, Music Collectors and Music Lovers. Send me your tunes so I can share with the people of Gloucestershire.
